Have you raised all the money you need for your business yet?

Hello it’s Ryan Gibson again, thank you for participating in our Meet-up groups for Business Networking and Financing. (This event is done in conjunction with other meet-ups, expect 70 entrepreneurs and 10 VCs)

As everyone knows, I am a very busy financier, software developer, venture capitalist, and entrepreneur. I fly in from Gambia, Barcelona, and Paris this trip around on Friday, to make sure that I am there to run another successful Venture Capital Pitching and Financing Your Business “Ideas on Tap” in Sandton, Johannesburg at the Brazen Head off Grayston and Linden, where businesses share their entrepreneurial ventures with the hopes of attracting one of the 5-10 venture capitalists who will be attending as investors. There is LIMITED SPACE so RSVP.

These events also come with a small speech from myself on key components of raising capital, available methods, best practices, and cheat sheets to help you succeed in raising money for your business.

It’s built in such a way that “you” the investor also get a chance to meet and hear what every entrepreneur does in the room and socialize over a drink and snacks, networking with the business owners and digging deeper into who they are and what they have.

By popular demand of our last session, I have been asked to send out two of the slide contents on “making the pitch” and I recommend it for anyone who wants to Pitch Their Business at the next event.

This is a free event, with food catered for the guests at the end of the Elevator Pitches.

I ask that you support the group and invite other businesses to this Monday’s event, and if you are ready to make a pitch for your business please do.

Sign-Up for Monday September 11th 4:30 for 8:00

QUICK POINTERS:

Making the Pitch

• Brief introduction of yourself, history and achievements (sell yourself as an expert, if you are not, then sell the team of experts you have working with you) MAKE YOURSELF SOUND INTERESTING!

• Explain in two to three sentences the industry, the product, and its target market. HOW BIG IS THE INDUSTRY AND WHY IS THAT INTERESTING

• Explain why it fits a gap, and has a competitive advantage. (Know your competitors, don’t get stuck on competition focus on the trend and gap mostly) WHAT MAKES YOU THE BEST

• Risks the industry faces and how you have managed to get around those risks WHAT MAKES YOU LOW RISK

• Amount of money invested to date and what you have achieved (be specific, contacts, sales figures, cash flow, social media followers and friends, news coverage, product launched or not, etc.)

• Number of current shareholders and partners and be specific “how much you own” so they know who’s pitching them

• The amount of money you are looking to raise and what you are going to spend the funds on and what you expect to achieve

• The percentage of the business you are willing to give up for the investment or terms you would consider (KNOW WHY YOU GAVE YOURSELF THE VALUATION, IT’S A ROOKIE MISTAKE)

• Your “Power Statement” so they remember who you are like “Expect The Best FINTECH firm for Digitalizing the Financial Markets”.

DON’T DO MATH IN THE ROOM!
