Welcome to the Johnston County Hiking and Outing Group (or JoCoHOG). Not too fast, not too slow and not too far is the motto for most of our activities. Like many of you, travelling a far distance for a hike or activity can be difficult so the goal will be to keep things centrally located within 30 minutes of Johnston County. However, that doesn't mean we may not venture out further every once in a while! Most of the hikes will be 3-5 miles for now at a comfortable pace so that we can socialize and enjoy our surroundings and nature.
At this time membership will remain at no charge. And a major matter of membership is being polite and considerate about attending activities that you have signed up for. Not showing up or cancelling at the last minute is very disheartening to leaders and keeps others from having an opportunity to join if there is a waiting list.
Participation in any activity with Johnston County Hiking and Outing Group is at your own risk. To the fullest extent allowed by law, you waive any claims against, and agree to indemnify and hold harmless Johnston County Hiking and Outing Group, it's organizers, affiliates, employees, officers, directors and contractors, from all claims of liability of every type (including court costs and legal fees) for injury or death to any person or for damage to property arising out of or relating to your participation as a member. This agreement applies to you and any other party who may accompany you in these endeavors.
