What we're about
This group is for anyone who is interested in helping us Stop Child Sex Trafficking. We will be hosting Happy Hour events, Awareness events, Galas and Volunteer events. We want to encourage anyone who wants to host a fundraising event to reach out to us. If you own a business, join our Powerful Business Collective (PBC). More information is on our website at doortograce.org
We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization (Federal Tax ID: 27-1377148). Door to Grace (DTG) impacts child sex trafficking through an intensive mentoring program. Serving girls, between the ages of 13-17 (Program entrance age; participants do not age out), from the Portland-Vancouver Metro Area. DTG helps to facilitate and provide an adult female mentor volunteer who has undergone extensive training to work with this population. Mentors help guide these teens and young women to slowly rebuild their self-esteem and resiliency. They work to help them stay in school, find and keep jobs, and rebuild their lives.
We are among the very few organizations of this kind in the State of Oregon.
We also have a very exciting new Foster Care Training Program that we are currently launching with the Oregon Department of Human Services. DTG is currently working to edit a curriculum which will be used for the entire Oregon foster care system along with a resource kit for foster families to be posted soon at the DTG website. In future, we hope to offer both in-person and online training. Why is this Important? One in seven endangered runaways reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) in 2017 were likely sex trafficking victims. 88% of these likely sex trafficking victims were in the care of social services or foster care when they went missing.
