Have you given up hope on ever loving your body or feeling OK with food? This group is for all people who want to change the way they eat but get stuck somewhere between what they want to put in their mouths and what they actually put in their mouths.

Let's get together and talk about food, weight, nutrition and health from the question: "what does health mean for me?". This is a personal journey toward health that involves leaving behind obsessive food thoughts and focusing on what works. What IS working?  So often we believe we need to lose weight or perhaps get fit, or overcome health symptoms before we allow ourselves a positive body image, and more fulfilled life. However these beliefs only serve to perpetuate stress, compulsive behaviors and poor health. 




These meet-ups will be based in concepts from Linda Bacon's book Body Respect, and Evelyn Tribole's book Intuitive Eating, among others.  These meetings will include some discussion led by a registered dietitian discussing nutrition, body respect, mindfulness with food, recipes ideas, topics related to healing your relationship with food.  There will also be guest speakers who will share their insight and expertise and how it relates to joyful, intuitive eating.  We may watch YouTube videos and discuss different topics related to health and well-being.  

What is "Intuitive Eating" you ask?  It's a way of eating that honors your body without strict dieting or forcing rules to follow.  I recommend reading the 10 Principles of Intuitive Eating to get more familiar with what it is and how it may be able to help you break free from old diet-talk and enjoy a more joyful relationship with food.

To be clear: this is NOT a diet program, and there will be no weight-loss talk or body-shaming. This is a body positive environment meant to help you heal your relationship with food and body. Our meetups will include practical coaching techniques, clinical nutrition, body-positive practices and mind-body science. We explore aspects around food, such as cravings, overeating and intuitive eating. We'll learn the joys and pleasures of embodiment; of allowing ourselves to feel safe, and to better thrive in our body just as it is now. 

The hope is that this group will continue to grow into a community group where there can be peer-support on an on-going basis with the monthly meet-ups with the professionals to support you in your journey toward intuitive eating.  

***This is a private group, and we ask that everyone who participates honors and respects the confidentiality others.  It is open to all ages, genders, ethnicity and body types.  The only requirement is that you're interested in learning more about intuitive eating.

Meetings will be held Vancouver, WA primarily unless otherwise noted.  If you  are interested in holding a meet up at your home or another location, please contact Lynae directly.

Cost: 

Monthly "Meet & Greet" meetings are free; other meetings and workshops $10-20 each.   Some meet ups will be "community opportunities" which I will announce as an FYI of other opportunities going on in the area.  Some may be free; others may have a cost.
