Julia in Freiburg

It is time for our inaugural Julia Meetup in Freiburg. :)

This will be some sort of founders gathering. We will discuss the core characteristics, strengths and weaknesses of the language, as well as its potential applications. We will go through the original papers and documentation and assess the possibilities for future projects, regardless of their actual feasibility in the current version. Julia is in many aspects still a language in the making.

I will create some slides simply to guide the conversation and go through its major points, but the whole thing will be very informal. My hope is that we create a solid community of Julia enthusiasts, including a support network in case we need to share docs, libraries, know-how, etc.
