Rec & Parks has suspended volunteer days December through February. We expect Juri Commons' long-awaited renovation to start in spring. So there will be no volunteer days for the foreseeable future. In the meantime, please visit the park and tidy up when you have a moment. Wear gloves and take a trash bag. Save plastic bags and leave them in the dog bag holders. See you in the renovated park in a year or so!
The Juri Commoners are volunteers who care for Juri Commons, our park in the southwestern corner of San Francisco's Mission District, built on the old railroad right-of-way between Guerrero Street, San Jose Avenue and 25th and 26th Streets. (http://www.xrg.us/missionrailroad/) We've been volunteering since 2005. We work on the park on the last Saturday of the month from 9 AM to around 11, and we take turns patrolling the park once each day.
Watch this space, email and flyers to find out whether there will be a work day this month. One work day in early December replaces the work days at the end of November and December which would compete with Thanksgiving and Christmas.
