The Juri Commoners are volunteers who care for Juri Commons, our park in the southwestern corner of San Francisco's Mission District, built on the old railroad right-of-way between Guerrero Street, San Jose Avenue and 25th and 26th Streets. We work on the park on the last Saturday of the month from 9 AM to around noon, and we take turns patrolling the park once each day.

Watch this space, email and flyers to find out whether there will be a work day this month. One work day in early December replaces the work days at the end of November and December which would compete with Thanksgiving and Christmas.

We also have an Adopt-A-Day program, in which each volunteer inspects and tidies up the park one day a month. Look in our files section for more info.

If you see a problem in the park, call 311 or tweet @SF311.

If you've got an interest in organizing and/or fundraising, we'd especially love to get some help on those fronts -- several park projects need someone to get them moving.

To learn more, sign up for this group, send email to the current coordinator, dave at schweisguth dot org, and/or call him at MI7-6290.

Juri Commons is also home to Jennifer Alexander's sculpture, Sol Flor, conceived of as a temporary work under the Black Rock Arts Foundation's ScrapEden project and still in place.

P.S.: announcements of interest to the neighborhood are always welcome in the mailing list.

The "chip in" button is's idea, not ours. Participation in this group and in our events is free.

Please note that this group has replaced the Juri Commoners Yahoo group. If you're signed up for this group, you don't need to sign up for the Yahoo group too, and you can unsubscribe from the Yahoo group.
