What we’re about

This group is on hiatus. It needs a leader. If you'd enjoy organizing a monthly cleanup day, please contact the former leader at dave at schweisguth dot org or 415-MI7-6290.

In the meantime, please visit the park and tidy up when you have a moment. Wear gloves and take a trash bag. Save plastic bags and leave them in the dog bag holders.

The Juri Commoners are volunteers who care for Juri Commons, our park in the southwestern corner of San Francisco's Mission District, built on the old railroad right-of-way between Guerrero Street, San Jose Avenue and 25th and 26th Streets. We've been volunteering since 2005. We work on the park on the last Saturday of the month from 9 AM to around 11, and we take turns patrolling the park once each day.

Watch this space, email and flyers to find out whether there will be a work day this month. One work day in early December replaces the work days at the end of November and December which would compete with Thanksgiving and Christmas.

If you see a problem in the park, call 311 or tweet @SF311.

To learn more, sign up for this group, send email to the current coordinator, dave at schweisguth dot org, and/or call him at 415-MI7-6290.

Juri Commons is also home to Jennifer Alexander's sculpture, Sol Flor, conceived of as a temporary work under the Black Rock Arts Foundation's ScrapEden project. Part of Sol Flor was reinstalled in the 2021 renovation of the park.

P.S.: announcements of interest to the neighborhood are always welcome in the mailing list.

Also of interest to Juri Commons neighbors: Fix 26 is a neighborhood organization focused on safety and cleanliness in the blocks around 26th Street between Mission and Guerrero. Please join us!
