What we're about

This is a group for people who, like us, enjoy getting out and about in the great outdoors. The events will primarily be walks of all varieties but will also include weekend walking/camping trips and the occasional social event.

We adhere to the Scottish Countryside Access code and other such guidelines on hillwalking, camping, etc.

Children are welcome on most of our walks. However, children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by their parent, grandparent, or legal guardian.

We also are a group that has zero tolerance to abusive behaviour. No bullying, no sexist behaviour, no racial or gender abuse. We do enjoy jokes, as long as they are funny and victimless.

We also support responsible personal behaviour. This means that we take responsibility for coming to a walk understanding what it entails, that we are properly equipped with appropriate clothing and sufficient food and water for the event, and, some left over for an emergency. Above all, we understand that we are fit to do what we set out to do, that we inform others walking with us of any medical problems we may have.

If you are getting a lift from someone please remember that you should always offer to pay a contribution towards costs, and, that you have a change of footwear and clothing, when needed.

We all understand that circumstances change, but, if they do it is important to let people know that you can no longer make a pre-arranged lift, and, if there are restricted numbers on a walk that you can no longer attend. If you know days ahead, let others know days ahead too. It is not good practice to notify changes minutes before or after a planned start time.
