What we're about

Welcome to Richland Public Health (http://www.richlandhealth.org/)'s Meetup group for walkers throughout the county!

Just Walk Richland is a movement that encourages whole health walking in Richland County. Our walks are facilitated by trained walking leaders. The goal is to encourage individuals to walk for their own interests whether that is for physical, mental, or social benefits.

Prairie Wildflower Walk Series

Cole Road

Experience a progression of wildflowers in peak bloom at the Cole Road Prairie! Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalists (OCVN) of Richland County are leading a monthly walk series on three Saturdays - June 15, July 20 and August 17 - starting at 11am. You’ll be able to get up close and see how the wildflower species, and the pollinators that love them, change as the prairie grows during the summer. Bring a friend and your sense of wonder, because this prairie is a place of joy. The Cole Road Prairie is viewable from the Clear Fork Valley Scenic Trail. This walk series offers special access to areas of the prairie normally closed to the public, including on-site parking. Some accommodations are possible for people with disabilities. Call for details:[masked]. Walking distance is approximately 1-2 miles on mowed grass paths. Dress for the weather and consider bringing a water bottle, wide-brimmed hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, hand lens and/or binoculars. This free event is organized by OCVNs of Richland County and the North Central Ohio Land Conservancy. In case of inclement weather, check this event page for updates. (Light rain won't stop us.)
