Photowalk: Space in Southbank

Let's flex our perceptual muscles! Each time we meet we have a philosophical thought to ponder, before we go out and create photographs. This is to experiment with different ways of looking at the world.

Theme: Space
In the midst of busy lives it can be a struggle to find space. Living in the city of London only makes it harder. But perhaps if we look, we can find more of it. For starters, there is the space in which every object is nestled, also known in art and design as negative space. Then there is the space of possibility, that just needs a little imagination to access. What other kinds of space can we find?

Location: Southbank
We will meet in the heart of the city, in the Southbank Centre. We can then walk across the bridge to Somerset House or alongside the Thames.

Schedule:

Meet at Southbank Centre Level 5. Venue opens at 10am, so by coming at that time you can help secure a seating area for the group.

10.30 - 11.15: Intros & Warm up games

11.15 - 12.30: Photowalk Experiment

12.30 - 13.00: Sharing the results - experiences and photos!

13.00: Optional Lunch - Bring your own / cafe downstairs / food market outside

Please bring:

• Camera / phone-camera

• Thoughts, quotations, readings, poems, haikus, that we can add to our collective storytelling about finding space in busy places.

• Weather-proofing (Jumper, umbrella, walking shoes etc.)

Cost:
Everyone's £2.50 goes towards covering the cost of running this event (Meetup admin fees) making it self-sustainable. Any extra funds raised will be our donation to Young Minds (http://youngminds.org.uk/): a charity that champions the mental health of young people in the UK.
