Volunteer organizers in Lexington, Louisville, Hopkinsville, Bardstown, Berea and Bowling Green are attending weekly conference calls with the national campaign. We are looking to grow the organization across the Commonwealth and we need YOUR help.
The least advantaged in our communities do not have high speed internet access and for many, cable news options are out of reach. In my view, it is immoral and unethical for us to not share what is really going on so that the wool will come off of their eyes and they will STOP voting against their own best interests. The systematic oppression of poor and minority communities has gone too far and it affects all of us. Our very democracy depends on our political engagement and activism . Increased voter education, voter registration, and voter turn-out.
No matter your political party, if you are interested in this political revolution to turn-out the vote for a government that represents ALL people and not just the top 1% in the world, in our nation, in our states, and in our counties, please join this MEETUP group and let's follow in the footsteps of those before us and remind everyone, "When a tens-of-millions of people stand together, there is NOTHING we cannot accomplish."
Bernie Sanders asks us to think BIG not small. He says, "We are living in the wealthiest country in the history of the world." The question is, why are so many Americans - men, women, children, the elderly, and the ill, still living in poverty or near poverty? Why are our brown and black brothers and sisters even worse off and why is our earth quickly becoming more uninhabitable for our kids and our grandkids?
What role does organized religion play in all of this? What role does public education play? What role do sports and popular media play? What roles do lack of nutrition and poor health play?
What is YOUR role in turning this around?
