KISHAW is a non-profit organization designed for the enjoyment of the outdoors, mainly through hiking. Our group consists of adults of all ages from diverse backgrounds who share the common interest of enjoying nature, while staying active.
It is our intent to provide a fun way to unwind and to experience nature, to provide a venue through which to meet quality people, and to promote a healthy respect for the environment, as well as for each other.
We hike 5 to 8 miles (2.5-4 hours) in length. Dates and departure times are determined by the hike leader and depend on the location of the hike.
We leave at the posted time! It is strongly encouraged to arrive 15 minutes early.
Sometimes we carpool to the out of town hikes, riders should chip in to the drivers for gas. Some parks charge admission, usually the car load will split this.
There can be some danger in hiking. Please be aware that you hike at your own risk. The hike leader and other hikers are not responsible for your health or safety. Please dress appropriately with good footwear. Bring enough water to drink and snacks to keep up your energy.
We occasionally have other social and recreational events for paid members, such as canoe trips, picnics, and parties.
