Gunung Ulu Sepat, Kelantan, 2160m

http://photos2.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/9/7/1/0/event_99518672.jpegG. Ulu Sepat is the lowest of the G12 Summits. The start of the trail is at Kampong Rantau, which is the remote village in the Grik area of Perak, where the climb to Gunung Chamah also begins.

Our expedition begins with an interesting boat ride across Tasek Temmengor in the Upper Perak Basin. As for the trek itself, depending on the speed of your climb, the peak can be reached on the second day after about six hours of trekking uphill. You would have to be extra careful since you would be sharing your treks with elephants which you may encounter!

06Aug is a state holiday for Kelantan, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Penang and Selangor; but I'd advise taking 03Aug off so as to travel to Gerik to spend the night before the expedition begins. Travel can be done after work on Fri as well, but that'll be quite a rush . . . and I never travel on the day of a trek - too stressful. But that's me; and we'll sort that out as we go along ... ... ...
