This is a group for anyone interested in learning more about cybersecurity. All skill levels are welcome. We will be talking about a wide range of security topics and hosting many local security experts.
John Svazic, Purple Squad Security podcast, and Jamie Hari, founder of Derisk are going to lead the group through an interactive hands-on ‘tabletop exercise.’ They will demonstrate how even non-security and non-technical staff - such as lawyers, marketing, and the c-suite also play a critical role in incident response.
The topic of the role play is that a fictitious company has been affected by a major privacy and security breach and the goal is for the audience to work together to successfully navigate the crisis, with as little damage as possible to the company.
The audience will be split into groups, each representing a single person with an important role to play in incident response. Roles may include: CEO, CFO, Legal Counsel, Public Relations/ Marketing Communications, Security Analyst, VP of Customer Support, VP of IT / Engineering
As groups take actions, new information will be introduced taking the audience on an unpredictable, educational, and hopefully enjoyable journey.
