Kafka streaming

Details
Streaming data is gaining more and more attention every day. In March this year we were delighted to see that Apache Kafka released Kafka Streams (https://www.confluent.io/product/kafka-streams/), a Java library for building distributed stream processing apps using Apache Kafka. But, there are more streaming platforms and tools that can help us process large datasets in real time.
In our second meetup, we will give you a demo of two streaming projects, based on respectively Kafka Streams and Akka. We are very happy that StackState is not only hosting the second meetup and providing us with foods & drinks, but is also contributing by adding an interesting talk to the agenda.
AGENDA
-
17:30 - 18:30 Food & drinks
-
18:30 - 18:40 Jan Toebes (Scrum master, StackState) gives us a short introduction on what StackState does
-
18:40 - 19:30 Get some more insights in the Rabobank customer alerting solution built using Kafka Streams, by Timo Meijer (Software Engineer, Rabobank)
-
19:30 - 20:15 Lodewijk Bogaards (co-founder, CTO of StackState) will tell us more about the challenges of building an extremely scalable platform. You’ll get a look under the hood and will learn how StackState’s unique architecture creates a dynamic, user-defined, streaming system with the help of Akka and Kafka.
