Meeting Overview:

Note: If you're planning to attend please RSVP on the official Hacktoberfest page following this link as well: https://organize.mlh.io/participants/events/4539-hacktoberfest-2020-open-hack-event

October is here and so it's officially Hacktoberfest 2020! This event runs throughout October each year to promote open source software and contributions. If you complete four valid pull requests during the month you even get a free shirt! More information is available on the event's website (be sure to create an account there if you plan to participate): https://hacktoberfest.digitalocean.com/.

Today we'll spend time hacking away and learning more about open source. There will be a brief introduction about the event and overall goals and a quick demonstration of submitting a pull request. The majority of the time will be spent individually or in groups learning about open source software and contributing to a project. The event will be self-paced and self-guided and is mainly about bringing people together to contribute, chat and learn together.

Please read the Hacktoberfest Events Code of Conduct before attending: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1gFKOhyUqMZzrZcbq8A_TpO5x9J9HK6agv70awCH8pyI/edit

Happy hacking!
