Thanks to everyone who made it out yesterday! For those who couldn't make it out, we hope you can make it out to our next Open House because we had a lot of fun yesterday talking about everyone's current projects like RC planes, quad-copters and LED controllers. Aaron Brown showed us the table he made for his portable router and Michael Sharnet showed us his router skills by bringing a board that had "Katy Makerspace" cut into it. He plans on hooking up lights to shine through the letter holes so we look forward to seeing how that comes out.

We also talked about the makerspace and how some parts of it should work like classes. There was a lot of good input from everyone and the general consensus is the instructor organizes everything including gathering whatever materials are needed and setting the price for the class. Any member can host a class so just let us know if there is something you would like to teach.

Again, thanks to those who made it out! It was our biggest turnout yet!

Hey Makers! It's a beautiful day for an Open House!

Today we basically want to just get everyone together and talk about the Makerspace. What do you want to see? What do you want to do? Where is the most ideal location? How big of a building do we really need? These are the kinds of questions we need to discuss and together we can build the best Makerspace ever!

There will be time for project demonstration so if you have something cool that you built, bring it and show it off! I will be showing an Arduino powered light strip that I use as turn signals on my motorcycle.

Isabel and I have been focusing very hard on getting our truck working before our wedding & honeymoon road trip so we haven't had time make posts or plan other events. However, when we get back we will be 100% dedicated to the Makerspace so before everyone leaves, we need to plan some fun future events!

    See y'all soon!
