Forest Therapy walk with Kristina Domsic of Rooted Heart

Details
Forest Therapy is based on the Japanese practice of shinrin-yoku, which can be translated to 'taking in the atmosphere of the forest' or 'forest bathing'. Kristina, a local forest therapy guide, ecologist, and yoga teacher, is offering a Forest Therapy walk for the Kawartha Shambhala group on Monday, November 27th. This walk will take place in the treed gardens around The Mount Community Centre, following an indoor public guided meditation (6-7 PM).
The aims of this practice are to deepen our connection with the natural world and invite in the healing properties that nature has to offer. Forest Therapy walks done in a group and move at a slow and accessible pace. Throughout the walk, various invitations to explore mindfulness, sensory, and connection activities are offered. Each walk ends with a wild-foraged herbal tea ceremony. Common therapeutic benefits include reduced feelings of stress and anxiety, heightened sensory awareness, and increased sense of place and community. For more information, contact Kristina directly through her website: rootedheart.ca (http://rootedheart.ca/)
Any donations will be gratefully accepted, with proceeds going towards Rooted Heart's start-up costs and to support future walks. 10% of donations will be held in bursary to support participants of future events. Suggested donation amount: $5-10.
