Sante Fe #2 and Itchetucknee #2

Details
This is the trip being added as we had 27 people on the wait list for the first paddle. Ed will lead this one, and will need help from two other people...1 to watch for stragglers and another who could help if a rescue is needed. The rivers are easy (downstream paddles) but we need to be prepared. This paddle will launch at 10:15. The first paddle launches at 9:30. Please have your gear ready to unload on arrival. The kayaks and gear get unloaded in the parking lot at the boat ramp in Hwy 27 just north of High Springs. Cars are shuttled to the takeout on Hwy 47 south of Ft. White. We'll paddle about 9.5 miles downstream past 40+ springs (Poe, Rum Island, Blue, Ginny Springs). The following day we'll do the Itchetucknee River in Ft White.
There are three main motels in High Springs (H.S. Country Inn, the Alamo, and the Cadillac) which are cheap, and near restaurants. I'm trying to arrange a discount for us if more than 10 people book at the High Springs Inn. If you book there, mention the Kayak Explorers and ask for a discount.
There are three campgrounds in the area (Oleno is the closest and lets you see the Santa Fe River BEFORE it goes underground for 3 miles. Oleno Campground is also known as the tick capital of Florida in June...just saying). I can be reached at brawleytj@gmail.com or 941-960-5505 (no calls between 9 PM PM and 5 AM) Thanks.
These rivers are spring-fed and I think are the prettiest in Florida. The Santa Fe trip runs about 5 hours depending on the lunch stop at Rum Island Park. The Itchetucknee is around 3 to 3 1/2 hours.
Since so many people were on the waiting list, we have added this 2nd paddle for those ON THE WAITING LIST of the 1st paddle. Please do not add yourself to this paddle till the people who signed up earlier are on. The list I have is as follows: Tom +1, Chris +1, Ed +1, Steve Brown, Kumiko Walker, Muriel, Joe#, Cindi Armstrong, Sara Dickenson, Diane, Lois N., Elaine Kampeman, Diane+1, Charles Holly, Mary Jo, Brenda, Aaron, Nick Lincoln, Debbie M., Shawn, Karen Hande. These people have first choice.
