Welcome to KhushATX! We are so glad you found us!! :) We are an active (since 2012) South Asian gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) group in the Austin area catering to individuals of Indian, Pakistani, Nepali, Sri Lankan, Bangladeshi, and other South Asian descents. As Desis we have unique challenges as we navigate our lives influenced by our our ethnic identity and sexual orientation in the United States and North America. The main purpose of this group is to create a safe place for South Asian LGBTQ persons where we can meet, mingle, interact, commiserate, support each other, and have fun! We highly respect the confidentiality and privacy of our members. We have monthly get togethers that are scheduled on the first, third and fourth weeks of each month.
First Thursday Happy Hour
Third Saturday Social- Events have included picnics, dinners, potlucks, hiking, movies etc.
Fourth Saturday Gupshup: We meet in a safe private space and discuss issues that affect us. Topics have included: Coming out; LGBT identity and religion.
