January Book Club Meeting: 1/25, 6 p.m. on Zoom

Details
Hi all: The book that we voted on for our January discussion (1/25, 6-7:30 p.m.) is The Sum of Us: What Racism Costs Everyone and How We Can Prosper Together.
Note that this is a change from our originally scheduled book: Taliban: Militant Islam, Oil, and Fundamentalism in Central Asia. We will do that one later in the year because a 2022 edition is coming out in March. Hopefully none of you already bought the 2010 version.
New You are highly encouraged to have read at least half the book to attend—if you haven’t, it will be tough for you to participate substantively in the discussion, which will be focused on the ideas in the book.
Rough Draft offers 10 percent off of the current month’s book during the month leading up to the meeting. If you prefer to order online through Rough Draft, go here: https://www.roughdraftny.com/
Below (or at right if you’re looking at the Meetup Event page) is the info for the Zoom call.
Also, in the last few minutes of our discussion, we’ll vote on the books for the months of March, April, May, and June. The list of potential books for future meetings is here: https://www.goodreads.com/group/bookshelf/395286-kingston-ny-s-policy-politics-book-club Right before we vote, we take nominations from the bigger list. So: Feel free to look at the list and come prepared to nominate a book if you’d like.
See you on 1/25. Steven
