This group is about meeting people, making new friends and improving your social life. Events are put on by members, so it should appeal to all people of all age groups and backgrounds, couples as well as singles.
There is an annual £5 membership fee (to help pay for the cost of the website), but after that there are no other costs. There is no extra charge to come to an event.
You do not have to go to an event, but if you do not go to a meetup for a year or visit the site for several months, you will be considered an inactive member and removed from the site. In that case, you are very welcome to rejoin the group if you wish to (re-)start taking part in meetups.
We do not insist you add a photo to your profile, but it will help us recognise you when you come to a meetup, so a clear photo showing your face is to your advantage.
Carousel was hailed by Time Magazine as “the best musical of the 20th Century.“ The New York Philharmonic presents a stunning staged production of this iconic American work, featuring a star-studded cast including Kelli O’Hara, Nathan Gunn, Stephanie Blythe, Shuler Hensley, Jason Danieley, Jessie Mueller, Kate Burton, John Cullum and New York City Ballet dancers Robert Fairchild and Tiler Peck.
The Secret Policeman's Ball took place over four consecutive nights in London in June 1979. It was a successor to the 1976 show A Poke In The Eye (With A Sharp Stick) (the film of which was titled Pleasure At Her Majesty's) and the 1977 show The Mermaid Frolics.
The show was directed by Monty Python alumnus John Cleese and producers Martin Lewis and Peter Walker. It includes the Monty Python team, Peter Cook and Rowan Atkinson.
Unfortunately, there are some adverts to navigate, but you can skip them.
This is the full documentary of the making of Paul McCartney's Flaming Pie album in 1997.
The uploader says had to delete "The World Tonight" in two ocassions because of copyright so not sure if included.
This has just come out as part of the new Deluxe copy of this great McCartney album from 1997 recorded on the back of The Beatles Anthology.
Contains some great music,
Running time 1 hour 6 minutes.
This is an online event, using zoom (if you don't have it, it's easy and free to download). Numbers are limited to 12 simply because we can't fit too many people on a small screen, and conversation will be difficult with more people.
The quiz will take the form of a University Challenge type format with a starter question and three bonus questions.
With the basic, free version of zoom, this meetup will be limited to 40 minutes, so we will then have a short break of 5 minutes and restart with a new link.
After you have RSVP'd, I will send you both links for the meetup shortly before it starts, at the beginning of the week.
