Toward a "Quantum Internet"

Details
Abstract:
Quantum computing is by far the most recognised of future quantum technologies, and the one receiving the most attention in the popular press. Quantum communication is another, just as exciting, also with major economic and technological implications. This is especially the case in the post-quantum computing world, whereby quantum computers are already at our disposal, from which the obvious question arises “what happens when I link them all together? After all, most classical computers today (i.e smartphones) would be bricks if they weren’t”. I talk about the implications of quantum communication, with the long-term view of working towards a ‘quantum internet’, that achieves in the quantum era what the internet achieved for the classical one.
