Examining Roles for Knowledge Management

Details
What are the roles needed to perform Knowledge Management in an organization?
Hint: There is no single correct answer to this question. Rather, we can take a look at some examples provided by organizations who have widely adopted KM as a practice. What can we learn from these examples?
This discussion will open with a brief summary of the roles and responsibilities drawn from three different approaches to the organization of staff for Knowledge Management. We will then compare and contrast the benefits of the varied approaches and invite all attendees to contribute alternative perspectives drawn from their own experience.
The three organizational approaches examined to kick-off our conversation include:
• Army Knowledge Management Doctrine
• Lessons from “The Knowledge-Creating Company: How Japanese Companies Create the Dynamics of Innovation” by Nonaka, I., & Takeuchi, H.
• An Individual Perspective of the Global KM Procedures for [a Leading IT Services provider]
