Kotlin Helsinki User Group's Kick-Off event

Details
We’re excited to Kick-Off the newly established Kotlin Helsinki User Group on the 7th of June @ Zalando Helsinki’s Tech Hub. Helsinki has been in need of its very own Kotlin User Group, now more than ever with Google’s big announcement one week ago! So here it is! The best news is we managed to invite a special guest speaker to our kick-off event from JetBrains: Eugene Petrenko!
The Agenda: 17:00 Doors open + Food & Drinks
17:30 Welcome to the Kotlin Helsinki User Group - Opening speech
17:40 Short intro to our host Zalando Technology
18:00 JetBrains Guest Speaker: Eugene Petrenko - Kotlin in 42 minutes
18:45 Q&A
19:00 Jon Duran from Zalando: App Engine as a Kotlin playground
19:30 - 20:30 Networking
Eugene has been a Kotlin fan for years and completed his first production Kotlin code back in 2013. He is passionate about programming, languages, technologies and making this world better. Eugene is a software developer at JetBrains, he also contributes to many open source projects and speaks on Kotlin, Java, Go, .NET, Web and native code.
Eugene will be giving an introductory talk on Kotlin with live demo and stories, entitled Kotlin in 42 minutes.
Abstract:
Welcome to Kotlin, the open source, statically typed programming language for multi-platform applications. This gonna be a big and exciting journey. To start with, we have an introduction to the language, no matter you target native, JVM, Android or JavaScript. It covers basic syntax, type inference, lambdas, inline functions, data classes, statically typed DSLs, and much more.
An introduction is impossible without stories and future plans. In addition, I’ll share my own Kotlin experience and several open source projects I created with it.
The event is free and we only have 70 places available.
Looking forward to seeing many Kotlin fans and curious techies about! Welcome!
