Functional web applications with Spring and Kotlin
Based on a concrete feedback about building a conference website [1], I will show Spring Framework 5.0 in action with its dedicated Kotlin support [1] and its new functional and reactive web API. This reference web application we are going to see in detail has be developed with the following principles:

• Simple, fast to start, efficient request processing
• Reactive and Cloud Native
• Immutable classes and constructor based injection
• More functional style and less annotation based than typical Spring applications
• Take advantage of Kotlin extensions and reified type parameters
• Kotlin used for code, Gradle build and even for template rendering

Kobalt - modern build tool written in Kotlin
I will present this relatively new (1.5 years old) build tool that lets you write build configurations in Kotlin and:

• is easy to understand and explain
• supports kotlin, java, android builds- has a good IntelliJ plugin
• makes it easy to create custom build tasks
• builds independent modules in parallel where possible
• could use your participation (mostly in creating plugins)
