Easy Guide to Yoga Meditation
This programme will offer instruction on how to meditate for personal benefits and spiritual growth, in line with the teachings of Yoga.
An Easy Guide to Yoga Meditation is a 4-part online programme designed to give those wishing to learn about meditation, a good foundation and understanding of what meditation is, how to do it and how to get the best results from it.
Meditation is a broad term. There are many different types of meditation. The meditation practices I will share with you in this programme are simple practices derived from the Kriya Yoga Meditation Tradition. Paramahansa Yogananda, an Indian sage, travelled from his home in India to the USA in 1920. His mission was to share the teachings of Kriya Yoga with the people of the Westerner world. It is my intention to share these same teachings. In keeping with the tradition, this workshop will be offered without charge.
People decide to take up meditation for a variety of reasons. More often than not, it is to help them to overcome some upset, challenge or difficulty they are experiencing. Science has proven that meditation offers many side-benefits such as: reducing stress, overcoming insomnia, improving general health and well-being, developing creativity and intellectual skills, as well as enhancing one's appreciation for life.
Yoga meditation is based on the principles of Yoga which date back 3,000-5,000 years or more. When practised regularly with effectiveness, Yoga has been proven to facilitate greater physical, emotional and spiritual well-being, allowing the practitioner to live a more harmonious, content, fulfilling life with greater insight and understanding.
This programme will be presented in four parts over a period of four consecutive weeks. Each part will be 60 minutes in length and will include meditative practices. The objective of the programme is to empower each participant with the knowledge and skills to establish their own personal meditation routine which will give them the results they desire.
