What is it about?

The aim of this project is to form a group of mothers-to-be and mothers who wish to share with other women their experience of pregnancy, labor and childbirth, as well as breastfeeding and their early years of motherhood. In addition, we will encourage a conscious bond between mother and baby in womb through meditation, breathing and pregnancy yoga practice.

Twice a week 1 hour and a half to 2, where mothers and mothers-to-be can share with others whatever it is they’re going through: their concerns, their feelings, relationships with their partners.

The aim of this share is not to judge others but to exchange experiences and maybe to have some enlightenment about any issue by sharing and listening to others who have gone through similar situations. Also, a mixed yoga practice aimed at developing a conscious and deep bond with their babies through loving moving and breathing will be proposed.

Who will be guiding this practice?

Maíra is a Brazilian woman of 36, married, with four children, aged 14, 7, 4 and 2. Having delivered two kids in the hospital and two at home, she has undergone deep changes in her life thanks to these experiences and their consequences. She has taken part of similar groups of mothers in Brazil and deeply believes that a woman can truly benefit from the changes her body and soul go through during pregnancy and the early years of mothering their own children.

She was a classical ballerina for more than 15 years and also took part in contemporary dance classes as well as a Dancetherapy course (Maria Fux’s Methodology) with Pio Campo. She first started doing yoga during her first pregnancy and continued to practice it throughout the other three. After her fourth child was born, she started to practice for herself (Kundalini, Ashtanga and more recently Integrative yoga).
