(ONLINE) Kubernetes and Cloud Native Meetup #4 (ONLINE)

Details
UPDATE: Meetup will be ONLINE due to Coronavirus restrictions - for more details see comment below. (link for call https://meet.google.com/cvn-rsmo-fzy)
We kept going and you followed us. Now, our Kubernetes Meetup is officially part of Cloud Native Computing Foundation, with us as the sole Croatian provider of such a fine event.
When? March 19, 2020, 18.30-20.30. Where? ONLINE: https://meet.google.com/cvn-rsmo-fzy
This time we have the pleasure of presenting you:
** Luka Kladarić, who says The platform is dead, long live the platform!
„Out with the old, in with the new. Replacing a functioning platform with shiny containerized automated goodness. When companies evolve, their tech stacks need to as well. But sometimes you realize every single part of the machine needs evolving, and you're better off scrapping the entire thing.“ Luka will be focusing on AWS offerings but his approach is applicable to most of the popular public clouds. In his words – „It's basically a rich man's Heroku, with all the flexibility you might possibly need, while avoiding scary tech like Kubernetes which nobody wants to really learn how to manage properly.“
Luka is currently the manager of @Sekura Collective, a chaos management agency. Despises frontend, likes doing talks. Loves putting out trash fires for money. Formerly engineering lead at meetup.com, infrastructure lead at noom.com, CTO/cofounder at hitlistapp.com and developer at deviantart.com. Splits time between Zagreb and New York. Dreams in matrixcode.
&
** Dubravko Sever, with the presentation Falco or Snort for Kubernetes.
“Falco brings an in-depth view into application behavior all the way to system-call level. This enables it to detect malicious activity, system breaches but also bad configurations in systems consisting of a large number of microservices. We’ll be reviewing Falco’s tool properties, its installation, rules, as well as a simple example of its application.”
After many years at SRCE University Computer Center, Dubravko currently works as a security officer at Deutsche Telekom, Pan-net, where he deals with cloud security (in/of) as well as orchestrated microservice environment security.
Format: 30 min for each talk + 10 mins for your Qs and their As.
See you!
