7:00 - 7:30 - Ihor Dvoretskyi (Product Manager at Kubernetes Community; Program Manager at Mirantis) - Kubernetes 1.7: what's new in the release?

Kubernetes 1.7 has been just released (http://blog.kubernetes.io/2017/06/kubernetes-1.7-security-hardening-stateful-application-extensibility-updates.html), and it brings us various enhancements. Ihor, a member of Kubernetes 1.7 release team (https://github.com/kubernetes/features/blob/master/release-1.7/release_team.md), will highlight the most notable features from the release and how they will simplify the further life with Kubernetes.

Ihor is an Ambassador for Cloud Native Computing Foundation (under Linux Foundation governance) and Program Manager at Mirantis, focused on the Kubernetes-related efforts at open source community.
He acts as a Product Manager at Kubernetes community, co-leading Product Management Special Interest Group with the goals of growing Kubernetes as a #1 open source container orchestration platform; together with co-leading OpenStack Special Interest Group, related to OpenStack and Kubernetes collaboration and integration questions.

Kubernetes is up and running, what's next? We will talk about recent experience with Kubernetes-centric Serverless technologies. Concepts, overview of 2 frameworks: funktion from RedHat's Fabric8 and Kubeless. How they stand against AWS Lambda and how they rely on Kubernetes internals to do what they are doing.
