This group is for anyone interesting in following the events at the Kalamazoo makerspace. The Kzoo Makers is great for individuals looking to make, experiment, learn, share, or mentor. This community workspace will offer computers, tools, machinery and technology in a peer learning and knowledge sharing environment.
Bring your current craft project to work on while socializing with others. Be it yarn, fabric, paper, clay, leather or any other material, come show off your projects and finish some of those "Work in Progress" that we all have. Thanks, Cathy Preuss
This is a recurring event that happens on the Third Thursday of the month.
Are you eating snacks on plates? ....Like a *peasant*?
Come check out our woodshop. You’ll get a brief overview of how some of our tools work then we'll put together a fancy serving tray out of hardwood, with a resin "river" center. We'll have a few colors to choose from.
This class will take place in two sessions to allow time for the resin to cure. The first day (Friday) will be assembly/the resin pour and the second (Sunday) will be flattening and finishing.
Cutting board laser etching is done at another event, with many designs/personalizations. Additional items are available to purchase after event.
General Public $85 - 1 Ticket $110 - 2 People, 1 Board $155 - 2 Tickets, 2 Boards
Join us on the Third Monday of the month to learn about electronics. We are working with the Radio Shack Electronic Learning Lab and working our way through the accompanying workbook by Forrest Mims. Each month we progress through the workbook to learn new aspects of electronics.
This month experienced participants can continue to work on electronic learning lab exercises and for new participants we will review basic electronics principals like electronics components and Ohm's law.
New attendees to the Introduction to electronic circuits series will need to pay a $5 workshop fee. Non-members of the KzooMakers makerspace will be charged a $5 facility fee.
Any night out is made better with lasers. Come check out our industrial laser cutter. You’ll get a brief overview of how lasers work then etch a fancy personalized coaster out of solid walnut and finish them with oil and lacquer.
Each guest receives a pair of coasters. Additional laser cut items are available to purchase after event.
Event is $40 for single admission ($70 for two). Kzoo Makers Members: $35 (Two tickets for $65)
