Celebrate Okehocking (http://www.okehockingnaturecenter.org/index.php/events/84-celebrate-okehocking)
September 14, 2013 (rain date September 15)
This free family event will highlight the gorgeous Preserve, the Okehocking people, and the Okehocking Nature Center.
Step aboard for a hayride that features breathtaking views of the rolling hills typical of Chester County. Join the L.L.Bean’s Outdoor Discovery School team for geocaching, fly casting and fly tying. Learn about the culture and history of the Lenape people and see trade goods, animal skins, pottery and basketry brought by the Museum of Indian Culture (http://www.lenape.org/) in Allentown, PA. Take a hike with our new trail guide and map. Meet the Upper Main Line Y's resident critters or just take it easy and listen to some foot-stomping music by the Nature Center porch. Bring your picnic or pick up a bite from our food vendor. More family activities are being planned so check back for more announcements.
Mark your calendar for Saturday, September 14, 2013 (rain date Sunday, September 15) from 1:00-5:00 p.m. with L.L.Bean Outdoor Discovery School activities starting at 10:30 a.m. Pre-registration for the L.L.Bean activities is recommended.
To join us, follow directions to the Delchester Rd. entrance and follow the signs to our designated parking area.
