New Meetup: Cave Country Canoes - Half Day Paddle - April 11, 2009

Announcing a new Meetup for Louisville Area Canoe & Kayak Group!

What: Cave Country Canoes - Half Day Paddle

When: April 11,[masked]:00 PM

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Meetup Description: I had a few RSVPS? for the upcoming meet-up ? at Deams Lake - from those wanting to go but were without a canoe or kayak.

I?d like to plan a meet-up for Cave Country Canoes for the following Saturday, April 11 to accommodate everyone ? plus, it?s a great place to paddle! This is going to be for their half-day trip, which they estimate as 2-4 hours. From my experience, I would say its closer to 3-4 hours if you take an occasional break or stop and mingle for bit.

I?m not sure of an exact time yet, but I am thinking around noon or so. I need to call to get an idea of how they scatter the trips throughout the day, if reservations are recommended etc?I will of course update this well in advance of April 11th.

If you look in the files section of the group, I have posted directions on how to get there from Louisville ? there are two sets of directions, but they are basically the same, one a little more detailed.

Now ? since we are dealing with a third party here (Cave Country Canoes) the only thing I can do is set up a time and place and provide you with the needed information. The decision to make or not make reservations, finding it and being there in time for the transport is the responsibility of each individual.

Should you have any questions the day of, or beforehand, you may contact me at[masked]-8591.

I strongly recommend you visit the website for more information.

There is a McDonalds right off of exit 118 which I will likely patronize on my way there for some much needed calories. You are more than welcome to join me ? just let me know in advance.

As far as rental fees ? Cave Country charges $22 (per person) for a canoe and $28 for a kayak. They will transport a kayak for $15. You are required to sign a waiver- if you go to the website, you can print it off and sign in advance, then just bring it to the office.

Well, I hope that about covers it. Again, I will be announcing an exact time later this week, but anticipate something in the 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM range. Hope to see you all there!

** Note ** : The site requires me to set a time, so I will set at 12:00 PM for now.
