Dear my fellow night owls,
It's time again to flock together and enjoy tasty food and wine, and this time in Santa Monica at my favorite tapas!)
This bar has been one of my favorite places in Santa Monica by the beach because of the food, wine and cozy ambiance. I don't need to feel intimidated when I sit alone on a counter watching the action in the kitchen inside. It was also nice to see the chef David Plonowski do a free demo at Surfas last year:

This is the bio of David Plonowski from the website http://barpintxo.com/chef-corner
"Chef David has been cooking for as long as he could remember in the kitchen with his mother. After studying abroad in Salamanca, Spain for 3 months in 2001, he decided to stay for the summer and got his first job in a Spanish kitchen called Cafe Erasmus. After falling in love with the food and culture, it was clear that this was a natural fit. He enrolled in a culinary program at the University of Salamanca and continued to work in the kitchen for nearly 3 years up to the position of Sous Chef while mastering the food, as well as the Castallian language. During that time, Chef Plonowski traveled to 9 countries in Europe & has since been to 8 others, trying the food of the world in order to expand his pallet. When he returned to Los Angeles he took his next job at the restaurant, Bar Celona in Pasadena as the Tapas Chef. After a year, he took over as Executive Chef where he continued to work for several more years. Wanting to get back to his roots, he went back to cook for 8 more months in Spain. Upon returning, David took a job as a Private Chef until, in May of 2010, he was recruited to come to Santa Monica and work as the Executive Chef for Joe Miller's Spanish Restaurant, Bar Pintxo. Today, David's philosophy is to take Old World Spanish Dishes and elevate them to new heights by using modern cooking techniques, market driven produce and only the freshest of ingredients."
