Tomas Cafe Inaugural Breakfast Run: LASG Dream Date Weekend!

The LASG is always trying to present new venues, events and locations for rides. We've done many beautiful rides along the coast and mountains as we'll as city treks to museums. Every year we attend the huge convoy of scoots at Swerve 'N' Curve and go to see the lights at Christmastime. We do movies, evening rides and we've even attended a Roller Derby. So many fun and thrilling adventures we've shared over the years. Well, what's left? Lots we think. Los Angeles is a fantastic place to have a scooter group. It has so much to offer; cultural events, beautiful roads, and rideable weather pretty much all year long.

But there is something we haven't done in the past, a breakfast ride. Never... Not once. Oh sure, we've had places at the start of a ride that served breakfast, but we've never specifically did a ride to have breakfast at some great local eatery. It's high time we did.

Tomas Cafe and Gallery (http://www.tomascafe.com/) is a wonderful restaurant out Oxnard way, far from the blistering summer heat of the valleys amongst some of scenic agricultural landscape. It has very yummy breakfast fare and even sports an art gallery; two for one as it were.

This is the "morning after breakfast" part of our "LASG Dream Date" weekend. The first part is our "Caddyshack" at Cinespia ride (https://www.meetup.com/LAScooterGroup/events/128647622/) Saturday, July 27!

RSVPs open Wed., July 10 at noon.

Itinerary:

We will meet at Pacific Coast Highway and Sunset Blvd. at 8:00 am, with a planned KSU of 8:30.

We can head up the coast to Kanan Road and take the big leisurely road into Westlake, eventually riding Santa Rosa Road west. From there, we'll enjoy the scenery of the strawberry fields and orange groves, ending in the city proper arriving around 10 am. For breakfast, or really brunch at this point, well spend an hour so enjoying each others company.

For the trip back, we'll traipse through Portero road, swing by Lake Sherwood, up and over Decker Canyon to Encinal Canyon and finish with a pleasant ride down the coast. Should be back to the starting point by 1 pm.

Requirements: 125cc+ scooters. Intermediate riding skills with some canyon/twisty experience.
