| Who We Are? |

It was one special afternoon, thinking about what to do for the week with friends bored out of our minds when we thought up about starting up our own events that stand out in the Toronto Community. We were just the same as you...new to the city, without any friends and afraid to meet people. So here we have it only a few months in...a group to make friends and learn something new about the city and culture as we go along.

What does "LEH" mean?

Living. Experiencing. Happening.

At regular events, we have native speakers of Korean, Chinese, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Farsi, Vietnamese, etc. all to socialize and have fun!

Levels from beginner to advanced are welcomed. Native English speakers are welcome to join in the fun as well, the more the merrier.

ESL & Culture Games Over Drinks

Upper Deck By Fran's

Students from across the world come to Toronto, Canada with a purpose, to learn English. What better way to learn English through games, native speakers, and drinks? Simply put, the problem with most language programs or exchanges tends to be in a class-like setting, taking turns to talk, in general ...BORING. The main goal for LEH events is to make English fun to learn, use slang, idioms, and invite you to learn more about Canadian culture. At regular events, we have native speakers of Korean, Chinese, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Farsi, Vietnamese, etc. all to socialize and learn English! Levels from beginner to advanced are welcomed. Native English speakers are welcome to join in the fun as well, the more the merrier! LEH events weekly meetings take place in a bar with music, upbeat modern decoration. The servers are just great people to have a quick little chat with while buying a drink. PLEASE BRING AN ORIGINAL PHOTO ID (passport, driver’s license, etc.) MINIMUM DRINKING AGE IS 19 IN ONTARIO. *PLEASE BUY A DRINK, ALCOHOLIC/NON-ALCOHOLIC TO SUPPORT THE VENUE* The plan? Go through the doors, you'll be greeted by the awesome servers and say you're here for Thomas and they'll show you where to go :D We’ll be starting at 7 pm. When the time comes, Thomas will start explaining the game and show examples on how to play it and make sure you understand the game! Don’t hesitate to ask how to play the game. For about 30 minutes we will play one game, take a break, and play another game! A total of two games will be played, every week’s games are different from the last weeks’. The last session will have everyone split into groups of 3-4 and talk! Afterward the event, we will be chilling back to talk more casually and create more meaningful connections. if you'd like to stay back, just remember we're splitting the drinks which comes out super cheap. THINGS TO KNOW: This group meets every Weekend: Same time, Different places, Different concpet & Theme Please remember to tip your bartender (usually $1 extra per drink you buy is a good rule of thumb) The meetup will last from 7pm-9pm, you are more than welcomed to stay longer and chat amongst yourselves as long as the night runs on. We hope to have everyone taking pictures and inviting more friends for next week. By coming to the event you agree to be photographed and posted on Facebook, Instagram, and Meetup.
