What we're about

1 CREATIVE WRITING GROUP: We read aloud any genre of creative writing(eg poetry, scripts, fiction,cross-genre). Members have to identify as lgbtq(this is a safe space) but the content does not have to be lgbtq-related! Format is: read in turn, with time limit, then CONSTRUCTIVE (only) feedback and discussion related to what has been read. We usually have a theme, but writing about this is NOT compulsory!Minimum age: 18. We meet monthly, on the SECOND sunday of the month from 1.30 till 3.30 in Meeting Room 2 in Liverpool Central Library(top floor-lift available). Sign on door!(check the other 2, adjacent rooms, because, occasionally, they move us at the last minute). We are non-hierarchical and democratic; and ask that all members respect each other. The group is facilitated by a published author.

2.BOOK GROUP:Attendees must identify as LGBTQ as this is a safe space group. We meet in "Root Coffee",the corner of Hanover Street and Seel Street(entrance in Seel street);from 12-2, on Saturday lunchtimes, once a month. We choose a genre together;then pick a specific novel/fiction from WITHIN that genre(we only read novels/short fiction/travel fiction):eg thrillers, literary fiction, romances etc etc. Lgbtq content or non lgbtq content. We also have a segment where you can talk about books you have recently read and might recommend to others;or a THEME,choosing pieces of writing that reflect that theme(related to the set book)No obligation to attend more than one meeting(you can just have a taster).Event FREE but for cost of ONE hot or cold drink; venue also sells cakes/hot snacks(including vegetarian),and exquisite coffee and other hot drinks.

Please note, we signpost people with sexual identity issues and sexual health issues to the Armistead Project and Sahir House, as they are specialists in the field; it's not that we do not want to help people; just that they are the experts!

We ask that all members respect each other.

We also have a friendly LGBT(18+) SOCIAL GROUP ; AVERAGE NUMBER OF ATTENDEES:35-45 here
