What we're about

This group is for LGBTQ women in Ireland who have an interest in any aspect of health and fitness including sports, nutrition and mental-wellbeing. We will arrange meetups which revolve around some sort of physical activity or discussions about health related topics. We’re very open to suggestions from others if anyone has some ideas!

Luas and Walk the Leadmines Way up Dublin Mountains

Needs a location

Meeting at Laughanstown Luas Stop (on the green line Luas) we will make our way up the Dublin Mountains to the Leadmines Chimney and up Carrickgollogan Hill with views across Dublin and Bray.

The route is 10km all in, with easy climbs (300m ascent), along country lanes and well maintained paths, so a pair of walking shoes or runners will do fine.

Bring water and a packed lunch!

There is zero parking available at that Luas stop, in fact it's not really accessible by car at all, so if you must drive try the Carrickmines park and ride and get the Luas for one stop.
Or park at the bottom of Puck's Castle Lane on Ballycorus Road along our route, where we should be at approximately 11.30am. ( Let me know if you're planning that so I know to look out for you!)

Knocksink Wood Walk with Dublin Bus

Needs a location

Come explore Knocksink Woods with me.

Get your money's worth and take the 44 bus to its very final stop on Monastery Road in Enniskerry. To make the walk, you'll need to catch the bus that leaves DCU at 9.30am, gets to O'Connell Street around 9.55 and arrives in Enniskerry an hour later.
Lots of free parking beside the bus stop in Bog Meadow carpark for anyone driving.

Our walk will take us through the Bog Meadow and Knocksink Wood Nature Reserve where some paths are tricky and very muddy so good footwear is essential, hiking boots are a good choice. Bring a packed lunch and something to sit on, the place is basically a temperate rainforest so always wet and mucky.

The full route is 7km, all on the flat, but the terrain with fallen down trees etc can make this a challenging walk in places.

Lots of cafes in Enniskerry for a cuppa after.

I'm aiming to catch the 2.30pm bus back in to Dublin.
