This group is focused on LGBTQ parents and families getting together to build a stronger community, network as family and friends, establish connections for social and other engagement, and overall, just connect with other LGBTQ families in Greater Boston. I kind of envision this as part social group, part support network, and all community! We are new parents of a beautiful baby girl and are looking to get to know other gay parents and families for area hikes, social outings, play dates, and for simply talking about and comparing notes on parenting, raising kids in a digital era, and other things relevant to us as families and parents, in general, and as LGBTQ community members raising families.
This will be our group's second meet up, so if the Short Path Distillery doesn't work time-wise or isn't your thing, no worries - join us for an afternoon at the Stone Zoo in Stoneham! www.zoonewengland.org/stone-zoo/ It's the sister zoo to the Franklin Park Zoo, and they have a wide variety of animals and exhibits including a barnyard, birds and animals from the Caribbean, and Mexican gray wolves. They also have rides and a playground, and it's pretty affordable with admission free for kids under 2, and a 15% discount if you buy tickets online (and of course, free for members!). It's also pretty easy to get right off I-93 and just near the 128/93 interchange north of Boston, for those who might be coming from farther afield, and parking is free. And I'm thinking that unless it's a torrential downpour and a total washout, we'll plan on meeting up, but we'll also play it by ear weather-wise as we get closer. For now, plan for sunshine and temps in the 70s! :)
