What we're about

The purpose of our Meetup group is to help create a vibrant LGBTQI+ community throughout Central Massachusetts. This is YOUR Meetup group, so please feel free to share other LGBTQI-inclusive events. We have a growing presence on Meetup, and the group was created in 2008.

Open to all LGBTQI+ people and our allies looking to meet other, like-minded people.

We host events such as happy hours, holiday parties, dances, hiking, potlucks, movie nights, music, comedy events, camping, a more! We also cross-promote other queer-friendly events across Central MA and beyond.

We encourage an active participation and will regularly maintain an active membership list.

Events are low-key and an organizer will help you meet people and feel comfortable. Please join us at our next event!

Meetup's mission is to revitalize local community and help people around the world self-organize. Meetup believes that people can change their personal world, or the whole world, by organizing themselves into groups that are powerful enough to make a difference.

Green Drinks Fitchburg

Slattery's

Hi Green Drinkers, Happy 2019! After our holiday hiatus, I'm excited to catch up with everyone. To simplify, let's return to our "winter home" (Slattery's) and go with the last Thursday of the month for a little while. Here are some dates for January through March. Dates: Thursday 1/31, Thursday 2/28, and Thursday 3/28 Time: 5:30-7:00pm Location: Slattery's, 106 Lunenburg St, Fitchburg, MA Mark your calendars! Abbie P.S. I thought of you all back before the holidays when I read this article: "Climate Change Insurance: Buy Land Somewhere Else". The author talks to people living in coastal areas who are building second homes in areas that are less prone to climate-related flooding, drought, etc. Most seem to be buying isolated plots imagining that they'll grow all their own food and generate their own power. What interested me were some comments near the end from Bruce Riordan at the Climate Readiness Institute. He points out that "Sure, you can grow your own vegetables, but what about wheat and grains? And what happens when you need medical attention?" He said a better strategy would be to find a community that is intelligently preparing for whatever climate change may bring. Another person says her strategy is to find "the people I want to depend on in hard times." Reading the article, I felt grateful for all the ways - big and small - that the folks in our little Green Drinks group have been contributing to making our area a little more sustainable and a little more prepared for changes to come. There's certainly a lot more to do, but it's inspiring to spend a little time each month with all of you. So thanks! P.P.S. If anyone wants to unsubscribe from this list, just shoot me a note! You can also find our dates posted on Facebook. Green Drinks Fitchburg (https://www.facebook.com/greendrinksfitchburg/) hopes to help create more connections among people in our area who care about protecting the environment and building a stronger sense of community. Whether you've lived here your whole life, work in the area, are a student, or just happen to be passing through, we'd love to have you stop in and join our group of green drinkers. All are welcome!

Tenderness

TENDERNESS 300 Holman Street, Lunenburg MA 01462 MBTA Train: Either North Leominster station or Fitchburg station. Train Line starts at North Station, Boston. Driving by car: Some GPS directions tell you to reach 300 Holman Street from Northfield Road; however the best route is to enter Holman Street from the North side of Holman Street off of Chase Road (Route 13) by the North End Subaru dealership, because just south of 300, Holman Street is permanently closed to vehicles. If you do happen to go down the South end of Holman Street and get stuck at the Holman dead end bridge, consider: A. Walking 200 feet: Park at the South Holman parking lot just before the bridge, cross the bridge by foot and walk up 200 feet to the house going north. B. Driving round the large block: Drive back out of Holman Street, turn right onto Northfield Road, make the next right onto West Townsend Road, turn right onto Chase Road / Route 13 and stay on Chase road for 1/4 mile going past the DPW on your right, Garden Center on your left, past windermere drive, and just after the Subaru dealership take a sharp right back onto Holman Street (northern side of Holman). We’re the last yellow house on the left. The barn is on the right with lots of parking alongside the barn. From Boston: Route 2 West to Route 13 North (Exit 32 on Rt 2). Follow signs 6.5 miles on Route 13 North. Route 13 is called Main Street, then Electric Avenue, then Massachusetts Avenue, then Chase Road. RIGHT on Holman Street just after the North End Subaru dealership on Route 13 / Chase Road, in Lunenburg. From Worcester: Route 190 North to Route 2 West. Route 2 West first exit to Route 13 North (Exit 32 on Rt 2). Follow signs 6.5 miles on Route 13 North. Route 13 is called Main Street, then Electric Avenue, then Massachusetts Avenue, then Chase Road. RIGHT on Holman Street just after the North End Subaru on Route 13 / Chase Road, in Lunenburg. From NH/ME/the North: Route 13 (Chase Road) going South, LEFT onto Holman Street just after entering Lunenburg and just before you reach the North End Subaru dealership on Route 13 (Chase Road) in Lunenburg, MA. From Greenfield/the West: Travel on Route 2 East to Route 13 North (Exit 32 on Rt2).
