What we're about

"LICH" refers to a creature in popular fantasy fiction...a great magician or a great king of high intellect-who succeeded in defying death and achieving immortality... The idea for this group started as a book club...a place to share and discuss books and mingle with like minded book lovers...a place to act as a catalyst to rekindle the dying passion to read...and a place to attract and encourage others to cultivate the habit of reading...which should not be limited, but encompass all forms of literature...and not just reading but narrating, writing etc... On more thought felt the need to exercise and invigorate the intellect of today's individual who is caught up in the rut of all work and no play(for the mind) and the distractions all around dulling the mind...through various activities like puzzles, crosswords, games etc... Not limiting to the above two, further felt it essential to develop our culture in all forms...from philosophy to art...from science to lifestyle...and all forms of knowledge, learning and creativity... And hence the group to help each one of us become a "LICH" and a part of the Immortals of the Past Present and the Future

- ; - Where : Library @ Phoenix Arena, Phoenix Arena, TSIIC Park, Opposite to HSBC Phase 2, HITEC City · Hyderabad - ; - Please RSVP to ensure a spot and be there on time... Dear Friends, LICH - Literary, Intellectual and Cultural Hub started 9 years ago on 1st January 2010 to provide a space to bring together like minded people interested in literature, culture, experience sharing, learning, having rational, reasonable open interactions and discussions, and doing fun activities together. Through the years that passed, LICH filled a void in our daily lives and we have built a close knit community of like minded individuals who shared, experienced and grew along with the many memorable moments spent together. Along with the adults, we tried to engage, encourage and empower the youngsters periodically through various events like junior meets and by exposing them to non-scholastic aspects of learning, through popular workshops like ENRICH. When we were growing up, we had access to various groups and spaces which helped us build better communication skills, gain more awareness, and knowledge and helped us grow in to better individuals. However, with life getting busier, focus shifting to scholastic performance, and time and efforts dedicated towards career goals, these spaces slowly lost popularity and strength and many of them slowly ceased to exist. So in order to bring back that culture and provide such a platform, space and support system for young future citizens of the world to get together, interact, explore, learn, collaborate, co-create and grow together while having fun, LICH presents "ChilLit" - A Children's Exclusive Literary and Cultural Club for youngsters between ages 11-17(Secondary School-classes VI-XII) Session Format...
