RETRACING the GREAT LOST JOURNEY of NORTH LONDON to MUSWELL HILL (23.04.17).

VISIT a TIMEWARP this afternoon as we retrace the route of one of London's great lost journeys.

Forgotten Railways, Overgrown Platforms and Phantom Stations are the theme for today's unusual and slightly longer than usual 6 mile Stroll.

Starting at the Finsbury Park we walk through mostly parkland as we trace the route of a railway that once ran to Alexandra Palace via Highgate. We end this walk at Muswell Hill (in the Mossy Well pub) which is about 15/20 mins walk to East Finchly Tube Station (Northern Line). http://underground-history.co.uk/northernh.php

The route may be a little muddy in places as we stroll along what has now in places become London's longest Local Nature Reserve which supports a remarkable range of habitats and wildlife. Over two hundred species of wild flower have been recorded .

Hedgehogs, foxes, butterflies and a vast array of birds are spotted on a daily basis and even a rare species of deer, the muntjac, is spotted from time to time.
