TecTalk: why open source is increasingly important.

TecTalk is back! The last two times were unfortunately cancelled because of personal reasons by the presenters. But now we’re back with a topic that’s been around for many years, and in these times of anti-big tech sentiment and the need to become more independent, it’s important as ever. We’re going to talk about Open Source.
Maarten ter Huurne, software engineer, long-time open source contributor, and one of the organizers of the T-DOSE annual open source conference, will highlight many different aspects of open source in a presentation and discussion format.> Much of the digital world runs on open source software, but often behind the scenes. What is open source really, what makes it work, and why is it increasingly important? — Maarten
The topics will range from foundational, like software licensing and digital rights, to practical, such as examples of useful open source projects, how to get them, and how you can contribute to open source yourself.
Come and join us! As usual, this talk will be in English when there is 1 or more non-native Dutch speakers in the audience.
