It's been 24 years since Marty Cain first guided the creation of the labyrinth at the Somerville Community Growing Center. There have been years of monthly labyrinth walks as well as many other events and activities in the space and the surrounding gardens. Now the Growing Center is taking on a major renovation of their outdoor areas and the labyrinth will be temporarily removed.
There will be opportunities to participate in this renovation including the mindful removal of the labyrinth bricks on 9/22, a labyrinth design workshop this winter, and more as this project progresses into the spring and summer next year.
Marty will be joining us on 9/22 as we celebrate the Autumnal Equinox, honor the labyrinth for its presence in our community for so many years, and remove the bricks in preparation for the renovation. Please join us!
