What we're about

Have you ever wanted to get out and DO SOMETHING but none of your friends could go, or your hubby was too tired, etc? This group is for ladies that want to have fun and try new things or do the things you want to be doing more often. This group will be open to single ladies, married ladies, with kids, no kids, Seattle area natives, new to the area, all shapes, sizes, and ages. I really want this group to be friendly and welcoming to all.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please read the following information on the group:

  1. Have a current profile picture so we can easily find each other at events.
  2. There is an annual dues of $5 for the group. This helps cover the costs Meetup charges to run a group. It starts after a 6 month trial period. You can pay through Meetup or to Cyndy (the Group facilitator) directly or through Venmo/Paypal (this info can be provided as needed).
  3. This group is a woman's activity group, the purpose is to have fun, be social, and make new friends. Let's shoot for low drama, be supportive of each other, and keep gossip to a minimum. We are all part of this group with the intention of Getting Out of the House :).
  4. Be respectful of other group members and employees of venue's where the event is being held. Any disrespect will need to be addressed. This group might not be for everyone.
  5. As with many Meetup Groups, No-Shows & Late cancellations needs to be addressed. Many events have wait lists, if you have RSVP'ed YES, please try to keep your RSVP. If you are not able to make it, update your RSVP as soon as possible to allow those on the wait list ample notice that they have been moved from "WAITLIST" to "GOING". Changing your RSVP the day of the event doesn't allow those on the waitlist much notice. Also please don't be a No-Show! Sometimes things happen, and it is understandable, but it would be great if this group could have as few no shows & late cancels as possible. It isn't fair to the Event Host that arranged the event or the other attendees.
  6. Appreciate your Event Hosts for researching the event, putting it together, and hosting. Keep complaints to a minimum. You may not always like the time, place, venue, etc. but you can choose which events you want to go to and skip the ones that aren't that appealing to you.

Thanks for reading through these notes and let's get out of the house and have some fun!

Drop-in fee:

New Member / First Timers Coffee @ Top Pot Doughnuts

Needs a location

Let's do Coffee & Doughnuts @ Top Pot Doughnuts. This event is for newer members or members who haven't attended an event yet.

The line here can be hit or miss, parking is easy and I always try to sit towards the back, there is a couch, table and we can add chairs as needed.

RSVP Etiquette: If you RSVP and are unable to make it, please try to update your RSVP at soon as your plans change. This will allow anyone on the wait list the opportunity to have some advance notice. Day of cancellations often don't allow those on the waitlist enough notice. Not showing after RSVP'ing to an event is frustrating for the Event hosts and those on the waitlist, so please don't be a no-show-er. Thanks in advance!

Book Club - "The Shining Girls" by Lauren Beukes

Needs a location

Let's meet to discuss "The Shining Girls" by Lauren Beukes. It seems to be pretty easy to find a used copy for purchase inexpensively online. This has also been made into a series on Apple TV.

Here is a synopsis of the book: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/16131077-the-shining-girls?from_search=true&from_srp=true&qid=NL3Vitahwt&rank=1

The Hangar at Town Square in Kenmore has been a good spot, so let's stick with this. There is a coffee shop inside and good open space. We could even meet outside if it is nice. They have rooms inside but we aren't able to reserve due to COVID but we may be able to use without a reservation.

I am putting the attendee limit at 8 - please be considerate and update I am now putting the attendee limit at 16 since there have been no-shows / late cancellations. It isn't really fair to have a wait list for a book club, since you need advance notice if you should read the book or not!

Please still be considerate and update your RSVP at least 48 hours ahead of attending. This allows the host to know the final # and coordinate the seating arrangements, etc.
