August Ladies of Code - Accessibility and Sketch training

Details
Hi everyone
We've got an exciting August meetup in store for us Leeds Ladies of Coders…We’re going to be giving you a intro to the important world of Accessibility in software development and then we’re running a 2hr tutorial on how to use Sketch which is a great prototyping / design toolkit tool.
The lovely Clare Davidson from Sky will be discussing the importance of Accessibility in software development and then David Sayce from KMOOT will be giving us all a hands-on masterclass using Sketch.
‘A picture paints a thousand words’ - Clare will talk around how important HTML is for enabling assistive technology to paint that picture in words (for those who are partially sighted). She will show a mock-up in Sketch of how a poorly accessible page sounds when using Voice Over tools.
So Sketch is only available on a MAC so for those who are on PC’s, you are totally welcome to still come along and listen to the talks, and to be honest, most other prototyping toolkits work in a similar way so you can still get a lot from attending.
For the workshop if possible please bring your Mac’s along with Sketch downloaded for free as a trial.
And if possible, if there is a burning project that you’ve always wanted to do, its great to have a proper project to test your new skills against.
(No worries if not, we’ll give you a dummy one to work on in the session).
We want to say a HUGE thanks to SkyBetting and Gaming for sponsoring our August meetup and feeding and watering us all on the night :) https://skybetcareers.com/our-locations/leeds
