What we're about
NEW MEMBERS WELCOME! This is not what you think of when you imagine a Utah knit group. We are the place for liberal minded (and sometime's potty-mouthed) fiber lovers who like to have a beer and support a local business while we knit, crochet, or spin. We are open to knitters, crocheters, weavers, dyers, spinners, all women who love fiber! If you love yarn related activities and a laugh, you are welcome!
Ladies of the Knit meets in Davis County, Utah, every Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at a restaurant in the Layton area. Check out the scheduled Meetup to see where we are each week. This is an open group, so come when you can and if you can’t make it one week - no worries! In case the small number of weekly RSVP's scares you - don't worry! There are always three or more members there, unless I cancel the weekly group on Meetup. Many of us have been meeting for so long we don't RSVP, we just show up.
A special note: Many of us are moms and we love our kids, but prefer to leave them at home for the meeting. Also, I want to mention as I get asked this question regularly, we are a group for people who know how to knit, crochet, etc. New knitters/crocheters etc. are welcome and we are happy to answer questions, but we will not teach people how to knit or crochet. This is a social gathering where we eat and work on our own projects. Resources to learn how to knit or crochet: YouTube, Needlepoint Joint, knittinghelp.com, JoAnn's, or Michael's.
