Designers who write
Details
Hello y' all! 👋🏽
I hope you're well.
🌸 We're officially coming out of Winter and entering Spring with its blossoming flowers, colour and a general sense of better days. 🌺
A great time to get together and reflect on how WE can blossom as people and as professionals; what new things can we try out? What can we play with and learn? I am sure you'll agree that this month's talk matches this sentiment perfectly! Let's push the boat out! Let's try something new 💪🏽!
And what safer space to do it in than our wonderful group?
This month it's about -- 🥁 drum roll 🥁 -- ... writing!!! ✍🏼 Yes writing. Because as researchers/ thinkers/ designers, writing is actually a big part of what we do day to day. And also, on a personal level, writing can also make us more hireable... and who would mind a bit more of that? 🙋🏽
We're especially excited for this talk, which featured in UX Bristol 2019 and some of us had the pleasure of attending.
Here's more about what will be covered:
-- The talk --
"As a designer, the ability to write is crucial: it helps us solve problems, share ideas and knowledge, reflect on challenges we've overcome — and become more hireable! But this is easier said than done: when we decide to write an article, the fear of the blank page, impostor syndrome and the thought that everyone already knows about what we're writing are always looking over our shoulder. In this workshop, we will look at why writing is so important and how it can make for better designers, and we will learn some tips and tricks to write about our work faster and more often."
