Have you ever had trouble finding something in the grocery store? What about on a website? How did that make you feel? Probably a bit frustrated... maybe really frustrated.

As UX professionals we want to ensure that experiences we design won't make our users feel this way. Solving this problem is the value we bring to our clients when designing and researching experiences.

That frustrated feeling could have been avoided if the information architecture of that store or website was well organized and was structured based on its user's behaviors and mental models. That's what this month's meetup will be all about.

Information Architecture is the organization of information in both physical and digital spaces. It can make or break an experience and when it's broken, users notice. When it works, it's almost invisible.

During this meetup we'll provide a high-level intro into Information Architecture (IA), followed by a mini-workshop focused on two methods you can use to get user feedback on your IA through card sorting and tree testing. Hope to see you there :-)

Yes, we’re women focused, not women only and this event is open to everyone.

I don't work in UX, but interested to learn about UX, can I still join?
Yes, of course! We welcome anyone with an interest in UX. You may be surprised to find that about half of our members do not have 'UX' in their job title, rather product owner, project manager, developer, designer, communications, marketing, business etc.
