Systems Thinking as an approach to User Experience

Using theories and methodologies developed in her master's thesis, Karen Whistler will be speaking about Systems Thinking as an approach to User experience research and discovery. Through the terminology of environmental scientist Donella Meadows, Karen will talk about identifying the parts of a system and then discuss how this understanding can be applied to a User Experience practice.

About the speaker:

Karen Whistler is a User Experience Strategist who uses a whole systems approach to better identify pain points and understand the forces on the system. A native of Seattle, Karen moved to Canada to do the masters program at Emily Carr University of Art + Design in 2010. She currently works at the strategy consultancy Modern Craft.
