Big Day at the Lake is celebrating its 15th year on Lake Norman! This is a volunteer-only event so if you would like to participate, click here and register for one volunteer spot: http://bigdayatthelake.com/volunteer-registration/ Then click the link "Click here to sign up!" About BDATL: Lake Norman area residents and businesses come together to share the lake with children who would not otherwise experience this type of outdoor fun and to provide a unique activity that kids and their mentors can enjoy together. This is a private community event celebrating the "Bigs" and "Littles" of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Carolinas. We still need Game Setup, Game Assistants, Parking Lot Greeters, Traffic Controllers, Food Servers, Break Down/Clean Up, and Put Me Where You Need Me folks! :) BDATL Volunteer Sign-up 2019 is for the lake front Picnic event held at the Duke Energy Explorium. If you own a boat, we still need Boat Hosts too! Click here for more info: http://bigdayatthelake.com/become-a-boat-host/ ***Your time of arrival/departure will be specified based on the area you choose to volunteer.*** Thanks for considering helping out for this wonderful, local Lake Norman charity event! :) See you there!
Let's meet up for the Festival of Food Trucks that happens the first Saturday of each month from Spring to early Fall in Downtown Mooresville! YUM :) We can listen to live music, have a beer or a glass of wine, stroll the streets and shop (the Downtown stores stay open late!). Main Street between Moore Avenue and Iredell Avenue will be closed. You can parallel park nearby or in parking lots close by and walk over to North Main Street. Come early before it gets crowded! ***Bring your camping/folding chairs and meet the group in front of Cyn Tucci's bakery where we will set up camp for the evening. If you have a small camping/folding table, you can bring those too.*** See you there!
Let's meet up to enjoy a picnic combined with some friendly cornhole and the beauty of our local Lake Norman waterfront at Jetton park! The park has a variety of walking trails, a beach (no swimming), picnic tables, tennis courts, playgrounds and sits on the edge of Lake Norman. Entry to the park is free. We will meet in the grassy area near Waterfront Hall (not inside the hall, we will be outdoors) which is near the bathroom facilities. Bring your favorite picnic grub and BYOB (no alcohol allowed at County Parks). Everyone is responsible for their own food and drinks. You may want to bring your sunscreen too! This is a family-friendly event so if you have children, feel free to bring them along. Dogs are allowed in the park as long as they are kept on a leash at all times. Please be respectful of people who may not like interacting with dogs and keep them away from the food! :) See you there!
🎃Let’s meet up for a fun Fall outing at Historic Rural Hill! Plan to join the group, team name Pumpkin Patch Kids (select at registration link below) for The Great Pumpkin Run🎃or Walk! The course will be 3.1 miles and after crossing the finish line, we’ll cool down with some apple cider while enjoying the Great Outdoors and Fall season with friends🎃 I’ve registered for Wave 3 (for walking) but you can pick whichever Wave best suits you.
